What a ride! Season 2 of Wild Cards gave us so much more than I expected and I loved every bit of it.
One of the best parts of this season was getting to know each character on a deeper level. We finally saw more of Chef Patrick Li, got to explore the dynamics between Detective Simmons and Yates, and even spent a little time with Ricky, who added some much-needed edge and complexity.

I’m also glad that Ellis is finally on the path to getting closure around his brother’s murder. That’s been a heavy thread since the beginning, and it felt like we turned a real corner this season. On the flip side, I genuinely thought Max’s mom was dead, so that reveal caught me off guard. I was really hoping Max would leave with Ellis, but if her mom is still alive, it makes sense that she would choose family over love even if it broke my heart a little.

My only real complaint? I wish the season had been longer! Just when I was fully invested in these characters again, it ended. That said, I’m incredibly excited for Season 3. I’m hoping for even more character development, especially as the relationships continue to shift and evolve.
If this season was about uncovering truths, maybe next season will be about healing and maybe, just maybe, a second chance for Max and Ellis?
